EPL Clubs Prep For Transfer Season
The mid-year transfer window for the English Premier League (EPL) is about to begin on Wednesday, 14 June, and the clubs are gearing up to sign new players as soon as they’re up for grabs.
A handful of verbal agreements have already been announced ahead of the official open day but for many players, their future is uncertain and they will scramble for clarity over the 79-day period.
Professionals from relegated clubs Leicester City, Leeds United and Southampton have been quickly snapped up, as the players fight to stay in the EPL while their clubs slide out of it. Manchester City on the other hand – who have just claimed their first continental Treble – seem unwilling to get rid of anyone just yet.
Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers both appear to be keen on a ruthless overhaul of their teams, as rumours suggest they’ve both already opened the exit door for at least seven players to leave respectively.
Fans of Chelsea – who have had a rough 2022/23 season – also expect the Blues to take a critical look at their team in an attempt to stop their dangerous slide down the EPL rankings.
The mid-year transfer season will close on Friday, 1 September.
